Slim Spurling and Light-Life rings (Spurling variant)
Bill "Slim" Spurling (1938–2007) was an American metalworker and dowser who created copper "Light-Life" rings in 1991. They are the origin of today's "tensor ring" products, a large Spurling-name product niche on Etsy and Amazon.

Slim Spurling was the creator of the Light-Life Ring, a coiled copper ring. Its sellers call it the prototype of "tensor ring" products.[1][2] He carried the related surname Spurling, not Spurlin. Background
Retailer biographies call him Bill "Slim" Spurling (1938–2007), a metalworker, inventor and dowser. They say he made his first ring in 1991 by coiling copper wire to set lengths, with the ends overlapping and never soldered.[2] Light-Life Technology, which still sells the products, calls him "an inventor, researcher, and internationally recognized dowser".[1]

The trade name is owned by IX-EL, Inc., which does business as Light-Life Technology in Erie, Colorado. It sells Light-Life rings, harmonizers, jewelry and related tools.[1] The book In the Mind of a Master (2012), by Susan Anderson with Slim Spurling, collects his life story and research notes.[1][3] On Etsy and other marketplaces, many independent sellers offer "Slim Spurling" tensor rings.[4] Sellers make health and "energy" claims for these products.
