Two dental practices use the Spurlin name: Spurlin Family Dentistry in Berryville, Arkansas, which in 2017–2019 was the office of dentist Eldon Thompson Jr. (Spurlins practised dentistry in Berryville from 1903), and S. Jill Spurlin, DMD, in Enterprise, Alabama.

Spurlin Family Dentistry (Berryville, Arkansas)
Spurlin Family Dentistry is a general dental practice on North Main Street in Berryville, Carroll County, Arkansas. Its public Facebook business page, read in September 2026, lists it as a general dentist and links to the website eldonthompsondds.com, but says nothing of the practice's history.[1] In 2017 that website welcomed visitors to "Spurlin Family Dentistry, the office of Eldon Thompson Jr, DDS."[2] Its "Meet the Doctor" page said Dr. Eldon (Tommy) Thompson Jr. graduated from the University of Missouri School of Dentistry (UMKC) in 1981.[3] So at least in 2017–2019, the practice was run by a dentist who was not a Spurlin. By 2021 the eldonthompsondds.com domain no longer carried the practice website.[4]
Earlier Spurlin dentists in Berryville
Spurlins practised dentistry in Berryville long before the present practice. According to the Centennial History of Arkansas (1922), Dr. R. P. Spurlin, a Kentucky-born graduate of the Kentucky School of Dentistry, set up in Berryville in 1903.[5] His son, Dr. R. P. Spurlin Jr., was appointed director of the Arkansas State Board of Health's dental-hygiene sub-division in 1940 and later returned to private practice.[6] See Robert Parker Spurlin (Berryville dentist).
Berryville also has a street named Dr. Spurlin Circle. A 2015 walking-tour script from the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program says a Dr. Spurlin had a dental office upstairs in a building on the north side of the public square in the 1960s.[7] The sources reviewed do not say how the current practice got its name or whether it grew out of an earlier Spurlin dentist's office.
S. Jill Spurlin, DMD (Enterprise, Alabama)
S. Jill Spurlin, DMD is a family dental practice on East Lee Street in Enterprise, Alabama. Its website lists general, pediatric and cosmetic dentistry, including veneers, whitening, crowns, bridges, dentures and implants.[8]
According to the practice's website, Dr. Jill Spurlin is a native of Opp, Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama and its School of Dentistry, then completed a general-dentistry residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1994. She practiced in North Carolina before moving back to south Alabama. The site calls her the second "Dr. Spurlin" in her family. Her father, Dr. Richard Spurlin, practiced family medicine and surgery in Opp for more than 30 years.[9]
The Better Business Bureau lists the practice as a limited liability company that started on October 26, 2016. It was not BBB-accredited and had no BBB rating when this entry was checked.[10]

Dr. Robert Parker Spurlin (1879–1948) was a Kentucky-born dentist who practised in Berryville, Arkansas, from 1903 and served on its town council. His son, Dr. R. P.
