Paul Spurlin is a minister and Christian podcaster based in Marietta, Georgia.[1]
Ministry
In 2022 Faulkner University named Spurlin a Biblical Studies Accomplished Alumnus. The university's announcement describes him as Connections Minister at Piedmont Road Church of Christ in Marietta, responsible for church education from infants to adults. It says he served in the U.S. Navy during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and that he holds a Bible degree from Southern Christian University (now Amridge University) and a master's degree from Faulkner. It also names him as board president of Exposure Youth Camp and Ministry League, a nonprofit that offers podcasts, teaching materials and an annual event.[1]
Other roles
Spurlin's own website says he is president and CEO of Ministry League and president of the board of Exposure Youth Camp. It also says he co-directs a week of Camp Wetoga in the Blue Ridge Mountains, sits on the advisory committee of Faulkner University's Bible department, is an assistant director of the Atlanta L2L Convention and helps coordinate RUSH at Freed-Hardeman University.[2] It adds that his Navy service during Desert Shield and Desert Storm was aboard the aircraft carrier JFK.[2]
Family
He is the son of the Church of Christ preacher and author Bob Spurlin (1945–2016).[3][4] At the Algood church of Christ's 100-year homecoming in May 2000, Paul spoke in place of his father, who could not travel because of multiple sclerosis.[3] He was one of the two men who officiated at his father's funeral service in 2016.[4]
Podcasts
The Paul Spurlin Show is a Christian podcast produced by Ministry League through The Anchor Network. Christian Standard describes it as offering "practical conversations rooted in Scripture, church life, and Christian encouragement" from a Churches of Christ perspective.[5] The show is on Apple Podcasts, iHeart and YouTube.[6][7][8] Spurlin also co-hosts Coffee Conversations with Les and Paul, another Ministry League podcast.[5] He posts publicly on Instagram as @paulspurlin.[9]
