Spurlin & Company, doing business as Spurlin Real Estate, is a commercial real estate brokerage based in Albertville, Alabama.^[1] It shares its office on Highway 75 North with its construction affiliate, Don Spurlin Construction.^[1][2]

History

According to the company, Don Spurlin started Don Spurlin Construction in 1988, primarily as a residential builder and developer, and started Spurlin and Company Commercial Real Estate in 1995.^[3] For about a decade before 2011, however, his real-estate brokerage work was also carried on through a partnership. In June 2008 the Sand Mountain Reporter described him as a partner in Henderson and Spurlin Real Estate.^[4] In February 2011 the paper reported that Greg Henderson and Spurlin had ended their ten-year partnership at Henderson and Spurlin. Henderson opened his own office, Main Street Realty Plus, most of whose agents he described as residential specialists. Spurlin said he would carry on the real-estate side as Spurlin and Company Inc., concentrating on commercial real estate alongside Don Spurlin Construction.^[5] Manta lists an Albertville real-estate firm, Henderson & Spurlin Inc., which it says was established in 1995 and incorporated in Alabama; the listing gives the same telephone number as the Spurlin Real Estate website.^[6][1] It appears to be the partnership's company, although Manta's 1995 date is earlier than the ten years the paper gives for the partnership. Services

The firm says that it and Don Spurlin Construction have brokered land purchases, designed and built facilities, and handled leasing and property management. The property types it lists include retail buildings and strip centers, hotels and motels, medical clinics, dental and dialysis facilities, government offices, automobile dealerships and churches.^[1] The Don Spurlin Construction website says the two companies together offer "build design, turnkey and build lease options."^[2]

Track record

According to the company, the brokerage and construction affiliate have jointly completed more than 25 medical facility projects, more than 15 retail center projects and seven hotels or motels across north and central Alabama.^[1] Its About page cites "over 35 years" of experience in its heading and "over 25 years" in commercial real estate in its text, and says the two firms have won design and construction awards regularly since 1990.^[1]

The brokerage is listed as a member office of Valley MLS, the multiple listing service for north Alabama, which names Donald Spurlin as the office's manager.^[7] The Boaz Area Chamber of Commerce lists Spurlin & Company as a member under construction management and contractors, at Highway 75 in Albertville.^[8] Yelp separately lists "Spurlin Don Rl Est" at 319 Alabama Highway 75 North in Albertville, under property management, with buyer's-agent, listing-agent and property-management services. Spurlin & Company's own site gives its address as 319A Hwy 75 N.^[9][1]
