A Justia Trademarks search for "spurlin" in September 2026 returned 16 US trademark filings. All but one were made by individuals or businesses named Spurlin.[1] Most of the filings described below were abandoned before registration.[2][3][4][5][6] The same search on Trademarkia returned only two marks, both for the distinct surname Spurling.[7]
Spurlin Industries
Spurlin Industries, Inc., the bath-fixture maker of Palmetto, Georgia, filed two trademark applications in 1993.[8] The first was a design mark for whirlpool bath and shower units: a rectangle enclosing three wavy lines and a stylized faucet with a drop of water. It was filed on October 12, 1993, and registered on June 13, 1995, as registration no. 1,898,799. The USPTO cancelled it on April 3, 2020, because the company did not file the required Section 8 declaration of continued use.[9]
The second was THE PLUMBERS DEPOT, filed on November 15, 1993 (serial 74459212), as an intent-to-use application. It covered plumbing fixtures (bathtubs, showers, lavatories, pedestal sinks and toilets) and wholesale and retail store services for plumbing fixtures. The application was abandoned on August 3, 1995, after the company did not respond to an Office action, so the mark was never registered.[2]
The Shirt Shop, Tuscaloosa
Charles A. Spurlin, who founded The Shirt Shop in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, in 1979,[10] registered a design mark consisting of an elephant for clothing such as ties, belts, shirts, pants, sweaters and jackets. It was filed on May 13, 2008, and registered on December 30, 2008, as registration no. 3,553,786, claiming first use in October 2005. USPTO records show the registration was renewed.[11] A 2021 application to register THE SHIRT SHOP in stylized lettering for clothing retail claimed first use in August 1979. It was abandoned in December 2022 after an Office action went unanswered.[3] See Spurlin handmade goods and small brands.
Klee Kai
Linda S. Spurlin of Wasilla, Alaska, who developed the Alaskan Klee Kai dog breed, applied on February 19, 1991, to register KLEE KAI for "alaskan miniature huskies". The application was abandoned on July 27, 1992.[4] See Linda Spurlin.

Other Spurlin-owned filings include HOTRODDREAMS.COM for the sale and repair of collectible cars (filed 2009, abandoned 2010)[5] and C1 GOVCON, LLC for consulting on health-care plan options and for insurance brokerage (filed 2011, abandoned 2012).[6] The Justia results also include filings for T-shirts, key chains and lapel pins, an independent record label, English-as-a-second-language tutoring, a dog-rescue service and music recordings.[1]

Trademarkia's two results for "spurlin", CO-PARENTING WITH THE SPURLINGS and DENNIS SPURLING, belong to the distinct surname Spurling and should not be confused with Spurlin marks.[7]
